McGovern Library - Home of the McGovern Legacy Museum

Welcome to the McGovern Library on the campus of Dakota Wesleyan University!

The McGovern Library is home of the McGovern Legacy Museum and the St. John's Bible. The library displays a wide range of art and memborbilia.

Special collections at the McGovern Library include: 

Milt Kudlacek Art - Throughout the library the art of Milt Kudlacek is displayed. Milt was an Art Faculty member at DWU from 1958 - 1994.

Margaret Teufel Children's Collection - The Margaret Teufel Children's Collection, an endowed collection of children fiction and non-fiction. 

Boyajian Civil War Collection - The Boyajian Civil War Collection consists of materials focusing on the United States Civil War, providing in-depth resources on the conflict.

Jennewein Western History Library - The Jennewein Western History Library consists of Western literature and history books, both fiction and non-fiction, and additionally contains papers and photographs located in the University Archives.

Digital Library of South Dakota - The library’s digital collections highlights materials from archives including University Archives, McGovern Collection, and Case collection.

Dakota Wesleyan University and United Methodist Church Archives - The Dakota Wesleyan University and United Methodist Church Archives are housed on the second floor of the library.
