Sweetshade: City Champion!

Continue on Diamond to Elizabeth Street, turn left and walk one block to Castro Street, then turn right and head downhill on Castro.

The tree at 1230 Castro is a sweetshade tree from eastern Australia.  The scientific name is Hymenosporum flavum.  This is a “City Champion” - the biggest of its species in San Francisco!
