Photographs of the staff and grounds of the Michigan Asylum for the Insane (later known as the Kalamazoo State Hospital and then the Kalamazoo Regional Psychiatric Hospital) are from an album compiled by Elsie Culp Siggins. She and her husband, Clyde B. Siggins, were employed at the hospital, first as attendants and later as supervisors, from about 1899 to about 1909. Many photos were taken by the couple at Brook Farm and the Asylum Lake Colony.
