Outsiders Hair Studio

They are a Certified Nevada Green Business that strives to recycle and repurpose up to 95% of their salon company’s beauty waste! Beauty waste covers the majority of materials the hairstylists use to make you beautiful. Take a moment to think about all the hair clippings, gloves, hair color, stir sticks, metals, and paper products that are used next time you get your hair done. If a million people get their hair done, over a million pounds of beauty waste can end up in landfills. This is why the Outsiders Hair Studio decided to gain the services of the Green Circle Sustainable Salons team. They send hair clippings to be turned into hair booms for oil spill cleanups (like the many that have happened in the Gulf of Mexico, Alaska, etc). Excess hair color will be converted into clean water and energy. Even leftover aluminum foils can be repurposed for uses like bicycle parts. We don't often hear this, but Kindred is committed to having a salon with clean air. They proudly offer small-batch, non-toxic haircare lines - free of synthetics, dyes, and perfumes. They also choose products from companies aligning with their values - cruelty-free and made in the U.S. as much as possible.
On top of that, they are also recycling 90% of their salon waste. And that doesn't mean they just through everything in their recycle bin. They have to send the foils and things like this to a particular recycler to get this done.
