2084 Union Street

Union Street was the starting place for both Nanci’s graphic design business and Arnold’s law practice. Arnold and Nanci shared an entrepreneurial spirit - both branching out on their own - each being their own bosses. As their first official offices, this Union street location set the tone for what the next few offices would require. Essentially Nanci and Arnold’s businesses were always co-located, where they’d share the space - each running their own separate enterprises while still being near one another. This allowed them to commute to and from work each day, eat lunch together and bring their kids to work with them whenever they wanted or needed. In the 80’s and 90’s this was trailblazing - really out of necessity creating an environment where you had working parents essentially running their own startups - They were founders in their own right. But their bond and partnership was strong - each weighing in on professional challenges, advising each other as they struggled to overcome obstacles. Makes you wonder, how many relationships today could withstand being together 24 by 7. Next, we’ll be heading across town to the Sunset, along the way you’ll see the Golden Gate bridge and we’ll pass through Golden Gate Park as we head to the home where the Chin family - Arnold and his siblings - grew up.
