From 1928 to 2012, the Patton Family Homestead was the residence of the famous Patton Family. Purchased by General George S. Patton, Jr. and his wife, Beatrice Ayer Patton, in 1928, it was significantly modernized under the family’s direction and was to serve as General Patton’s retirement home after his return from World War II.
Following the General’s untimely death in 1945, the house became the residence of his widow, Beatrice, and later his son, Maj. Gen. George S. Patton and his family. In 2012, Joanne H. Patton, widow of Maj. Gen. George S. Patton, donated the Homestead and twenty-eight acres of land to the Town of Hamilton.
To continue your tour, please walk around the back of the Patton Homestead to the cannon sitting next to the patio.
