The opposite side of the Keith House is the formal facade. You will see that it is much more symmetrical and the stones are nicer on this side. The open lawn area was a formal garden in the 18th century with stone walls along the back and one side, paths, and plantings. You'll notice the first floor window on the far left was at one time a door. Dr. Graeme changed it to a window in the 18th century to make this facade more symmetrical. It is paneled over on the inside to maintain symmetry in the parlor as well.
