Ana Maria Botero - “Spring Line” and “Shapes of Nature”

Hi, my name is Ana Maria Botero, I was born in Bogota, Colombia, where I studied and practiced architecture. Today I am a full-time artist living in Loveland, Colorado.

These two painted steel pieces, “Spring Line” and “Shapes of Nature” are part of The Space in Between series. Several paintings and sculptures inspired by Colorado aerial views.

In my art, and certainly in my life I seek simplicity, calm, and equilibrium, the subtle line of a road, the circular patterns of crops for example, are enough to inspire my work.

To me, art is like a sense… it is a way of perceiving, it is an emotional response to the relationship of forms and the magic of the empty space that transcends the shape.

I love experimenting with color, texture form, and materials, pushing boundaries, and keep always learning.
