Education and First Steps into the World.

Mary was educated both at private schools and at home by her father. Her family were poor so she finished learning early and worked at a store when she was 16. Later she worked as a governess. Eventually she opened her own private school. The school still operates today and is called Bayview College. It is in Portland, Victoria.
