Come explore Rockville Lake, in Belfast NY-Established in 1854 as the 5th Feeder on the Old Genesee Valley Canal. The canal was abandoned in 1878, but Rockville Lake along with Cuba Lake still remain to this day.
It's a beautiful historical place that continues to stuggle with a true water source. The Lake Association is seeking help with a Restoration Project to fix and restore the inlet, and dam issues, and preserve and save Rockville Lake as it is today, or possibly to its former glory.
Whether you take a walk around the trails of the old lake bed, or kayak down the old channel, decide to fish, have a picnic lunch, or just catch a sunset, this historic gem hosts a habitat for tons of wildlife.
