Theatre - Mark Hillery Arts Centre

Welcome to the Arts Centre!

Throughout the year, this venue hosts an incredible variety of events, from Freshers' Week activities such as live music and laser tag to formal drinks receptions, plays, musicals, concerts and student showcases. It is home to many of our student societies, including Woodplayers, Dance Society, and Music Society, all of which bring the space to life with their productions and performances.

One of the great things about getting involved is that no previous experience is required. Whether you want to perform on stage, help backstage, work with lighting and sound, or support productions behind the scenes, there is a place for everyone. The theatre also provides paid opportunities for students who want to gain practical experience while studying.

We like to think this is one of the best theatres in Durham, and it is certainly one of the busiest. In fact, the venue is regularly hired by other colleges, university societies and external companies for their own productions and events.
