Aquatic & Hydraulic Ingenuity - Lifebuoy

Leonardo's note referencing the drawing below reads, "how to save your life in the event of storm and shipwreck".

The invention is easily recognisable as a circular lifebuoy used to keep people afloat.

The original may have been made with cork, the light bark of the cork tree, which grew widely around the Mediterranean.
