Thank you for joining us for this walking tour of the Hill. We hope that you’ve enjoyed learning about some of the local spots that only begin to tell New Haven’s dynamic history. We offer this history as evidence of the vital impact Black, Indigenous, and Latinx people have on this city and on this country.
In particular, we hope that this tour has offered you a glimpse into the countless ways Black, Indigenous, and Latinx New Haveners have been fighting for justice in this city. From Long Wharf, to the center of the Hill, from the historic Oak Street neighborhood, to the very center of New Haven’s Green, the fight for justice is as old as New Haven itself, and the struggle continues today!
Make sure to check out our audio tour of Dixwell, and our African American, Latinx, and Indigenous history map, which includes many more sites, and which can be found at the tinyurl: newhavenafamandlatinxhistory.
