Public Art Initiative

Public Art Initiative

In 2017, a group of volunteers formed the Historic Kenwood Public Arts Committee to make art visible in our neighborhood. The program is designed to be an ongoing project that has funded the painted benches in Seminole Park and the many finials that adorn the tops of our Kenwood street signs.

In 2025, the committee launched our new mural program aimed at further empowering the local creative community. Homeowners provide the canvas, the Association provides support, and artists get to showcase their work in a big way for the whole city to enjoy. Check out the tour map to see where some of the 12 murals in our neighborhood have already been completed. Stop by Seminole Park to watch one being painted live and to  learn more.

Dining for Public Art

The Public Art Initiative is generously funded by our annual Dining for Public Art events in April. Host a dinner, attend an event, or lend a hand to support public art initiatives in Historic Kenwood. Tickets go on sale in March, and they’ll disappear faster than your favorite dessert. Interested in learning more, helping out, or hosting your own DFPA gathering? Email DFPA@historickenwood.org for details.
