Stop Five

A Note From 2021

We’ve never found trail marker 5. Have you?¹

Perhaps the marker moved, like other things in Larch Island. Or, perhaps it was removed, to hide the location of The Originals.  Whatever happened, I hope you didn’t get lost looking for it. It’s easy to get turned around in Larch Island.

Although most of the text in the original version of Stop 5 is now out-of-date and irrelevant, here is the last paragraph. It reads, in part:

Let’s venture in a different direction now, still along the main path, but this time walking away from the water. As you walk, stay right. You’ll enter a section of forest where the light is less bright, and where the forest feels a bit older. A few Originals have relocated here – they are the quiet, slower sentinels. You’ll understand as you approach them.
