The Tree of Safe Travels

Did you hold your breath as you crossed the threshold? If so, you should now be able to see the many things that will be revealed on this tour. Continue walking along this path, to find trail marker 1.

On your way, you’ll cross another boundary – this one with a metal sign. At this spot, take note of a tree with a large blaze - a significant swath of tree bark missing. This is the Tree of Safe Travels, where locals come to rub its trunk before venturing on a big journey.

It is no coincidence this tree is here, close to the start of this trail. You, too, can touch it as you venture on this journey, but please do not remove any of its bark. Keep the legend alive, by keeping the tree alive.
