Bill Vielehr - "Metal Response" and "Tactile Visual Continuum"

These sculptures are cast with the ancient lost wax process into the modern metal aluminum, fabricated in an advanced welding process, and wire brushed. Highlight polishing certain areas exaggerate the natural reflectivity of the material. Drawing in the wax sheets before they were cast bases the work on communication by marking--the oldest form of visual art. These works are meant to be timeless, environmentally reflective, and a visual and tactile statement.
