Anadolu Castle

Anadolu Castle, also known as the Anatolian Castle, was built by the Ottoman Sultan Bayezid I in the 14th century to defend the Bosphorus Strait from naval attacks. The castle was constructed on a hill overlooking the Bosphorus and has a commanding view of the surrounding area.

As you approach the castle from the water, you'll notice its impressive size and strategic location at the narrowest point of the Bosphorus on the Asian side. The castle was designed to control and defend this strategic point and to prevent any enemy ships from entering the city.

Anadolu Castle is a stunning example of Ottoman military architecture, featuring massive stone walls, towers, and battlements. The castle also offers spectacular views of the Bosphorus and the surrounding hills.

Today, Anadolu Castle is open to the public and serves as a museum and cultural center. Visitors can explore the castle's towers, ramparts, and dungeons, and learn about its fascinating history through interactive exhibits and displays.
