Historical Section

As mentioned before, the City of Cambridge is made-up of the 3 former communities of Galt, Preston and Hespeler. The 3 communites each had there own individual Fire Departments. When the communities amalgamated in 1973, the 3 fire departments also came together and formed the Cambridge Fire Department. We show that history through historical photos and timelines on the left wall in the back section of the museum.

We are very proud that we are able to showcase, through pictures, the evolution from horse drawn equipment to the up to date firetrucks of the day.

As you walk through this section you will find many pamphlets describing many local historical events. You'll also see modern safety pamphlets. Feel free to read them and discover our history.
