The Coal Chute

The Coal Chute, located under the iron cap, used to carry coal directly into the front basement to fire the furnace of many of the mansion’s 47 fireplaces. On the second floor is the Daisy Bedroom where Mrs. Winchester was trapped during the infamous 1906 earthquake
