Corridor and ED X-ray room

When exiting CC 1 - 6 and looking towards North Block, you will notice 4 sets of fire doors. A set of fire doors will last for 2 hours. These 4 doors seperate the Emergency Department, the stairwell, CT scanner and switch board and the bridge. The doors at the other end of the bridge are smoke doors, they last 1 hour.

When evacuating, you need to go past 2 sets of fire doors at a minimum. A closed fire door will provide a minimum of 2 hours protection from heat and smoke. Once you pass a fire door, you dont return. Evacuation can occur via the bridge or via the cafeteria bridge.

In E.D. X-ray they have 2 Carbon Monoxide Fire Extinguishers. 1 is located next to the change rooms and the other is located outside the managers office.

Carbon Monoxide extinguishers are needed because of all the electrical equipment.

There is only 1 duress alarm in this area. This is located under the x-ray and quack clerk desk. No duress alarms are in the 3 xray rooms. These rooms also only have 1 entry and exit point. The good news is, they do have nursing assist and resus bells in the room, only near the doors.

There is no Emergency procedures box with action plans or evacuation map in E.D. Radiology.
