Lawrence Creadon, DDS

Lawrence Creadon was born on a small dairy farm in Riverside, Illinois. He lived his entire life in the home of his birth and in fact died at that home on Father’s Day in 1975. Lawrence’s mother, Margaret Hopkins, left Ireland at the age of 19 and met Dennis Creadon in Riverside. They married and raised 4 sons.

Lawrence was very proud of the fact that he earned the honor of an Eagle Scout, and his sport at Riverside Brookfield High School was track and field. He did not start Loyola’s School of Dentistry until the age of 28. It was not easy and he worked nights at the bus depot and took classes during the day.

Lawrence bought a retiring dentist’s practice, including all the equipment, so this dental chair was not new, even in the mid 1930s. He had two offices: one in Riverside, Illinois and the other in Summit Argo, Illinois, a blue-collar town and the headquarters of Argo Products.
