The Stable Restaurant introduces The Stable.

Paula Edwards takes us behind the scenes into the secrets behind her dress.
The Stable Restaurant of Farmersville has used paper menus since our opening two years ago.
We have saved them to look back at from time to time but never had the heart to throw these first menus away. They were a part of our beginning! We decided our “Shop Girls Dress” would be a perfect way to recycle these paper menus, so with the help of our wait staff we made fan rosettes and our old menus took a new life.
Daily, our kitchen uses the red and white checkered paper for all of our “To Go Orders” and a lot of our in-house food to “dress it up”. Why not use this red and white checkered paper for our “dress” too?
The Stable dress consists of over 100 fan rosettes (made by our wait staff) applied on top of a dress pattern of our 2018 menus. The dress pattern is the same one used by owner, Paula Edwards, for her Senior Prom dress back in 1979.
The Stable dress comes together nicely with some old twine that was found in the attic of our building at 124 McKinney St. We aren't sure how long that twine has been there, but maybe it's from the first Shop Girls Day held in 1900.
