Cremora Rogers

This is a photo of Cremora earlier in life when she married Henry in Colorado where they met.  Her father was an Episcopalian minister in Denver and she was a religious woman.  In fact, All Saints Episcopal Church in downtown Appleton still uses the silver altar piece that Cremora donated in honor of her father Reverend Kehler.

Cremora was also renown as (quote) “the most gracious hostess and highly esteemed in social circles” (unquote), according to a local newspaper.  She hosted parties for Kitty and functions for Henry.  Invitations to the Rogers residence were prized by upper class social circles of Appleton.  She was active in charities including the Prescott Hospital and the Appleton orphanage (which still stands).

Cremora was born on June 14, 1837 in New York.  She died on March 1, 1919, in Buffalo New York, at age 81.  She is buried along side Henry in Graceland Cemetery in Chicago in the Pietsch family plot.
