Father of Flight - Flying Machine

This is one of Leonardo's most famous drawings regarding human flight. The pilot lies face down and is held in position by the strap. They put their feet in stirrups at the back of the machine and move them to engage cables and pulleys that make the wings go up and down. The pilot then pulls the levers near their head to change flight direction.
The resulting motion imitates bird flight as the wings bend and flex when moving towards the machine's body.
