Rotterdam bombing memorial tour

This tour is especially made for the course Representing War in Popular Culture (ESHCC, Erasmus University Rotterdam) in April 2021. The tour is about 1,5 km and takes you along three of the key memorials of the 1940 bombing raid on the city center.

I hope you will be able to actually walk the tour, in order to get an idea of the memorials' mise en scene, the way they relate to their environment and each other, the extent to which they stand out or not, or anything else noteworthy of the place of these 'signs of the past' in the contemporary city. If you, however, follow the course from a distance, please look up information of the three memorials on the internet to get an impression of them.
