16. Jubilee Square

Jubilee Square was a joint venture by The Baldwin Bridge Trust and Eton Town Council in 2012.

It celebrates three events of 2012: the centenary of the Baldwin’s Bridge Trust, the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and it also marks the 2012 Olympic rowing events at Dorney Lake.

The names of donors are inscribed on the surrounding bricks. Lord Waldegrave of North Hill, Provost of Eton, opened Jubilee Square in 2012.

Next to it is Baldwin’s Institute, completed in 1911 and opened in 1912. It was originally Eton Court and was bought by E.C. Austen-Leigh in 1909, who donated it as a site for a parish hall.

Turn right at the Square on Eton Court and, before Baldwins Institute, cross the road to reach the southern side .

Continue along Eton Court, crossing into Meadow Lane carpark, opposite the Catholic Church.

Cut through the car park to find the footpath fingerpost at the edge of the Brocas Fields and a walkway marker the other side of Meadow Lane.
