Life in Plastic by Dorothy Lovelace is a multimedia piece made from two mannequins, paper, paint, and found objects. It is meant to invoke the friction between one's outward expression of self in response to others' expectations and the private inner life we all lead and may hide to some extent.
One of the mannequiuns is clad in a ticht dress made from plastic shopping bags molded to it's form. In one hand is a shopping bag. The other is adorned with fields and flowers winding around it.
