Confederation Trail

After you've settled in at Chez Spa and perhaps enjoyed your first treatment, it's time to stretch your legs. The Confederation Trail is literally just steps away. This is one of Island life's quiet gifts: world-class wellness and wild nature, side by side.

Here, you're standing at the edge of something special. This trail beneath your feet—it wasn't always a path for wanderers and dreamers. Once upon a time, trains rumbled along these very tracks, carrying Island goods and Island stories from coast to coast.

In 1989, the last train made its final journey. And then, something beautiful happened. Instead of letting the old railway line fade into memory, Islanders transformed it into the Confederation Trail—a 435-kilometer ribbon stretching across the entire province.

Start walking. Let your feet find their rhythm on the crushed stone. Notice how the trail is flanked by trees on both sides—maples and birches creating a living tunnel. In summer, it's a cool green corridor. In autumn, it becomes a river of gold and crimson. Today, it's yours.

This section is particularly serene. You won't find crowds here.

You might spot a rabbit darting through the underbrush. You'll certainly hear birds—warblers in spring, chickadees year-round, their calls echoing through the quiet.

As you walk, let your mind wander.

This trail has a way of untangling thoughts, of creating space between worries. Use your walk as part of your wellness journey, knowing that cleansing is happening not just in the body, but also in the mindfulness of this motion.

Walk as long as you like. There's no destination here, no finish line to cross. The Confederation Trail stretches for hundreds of kilometers, but your journey can be as short or as long as your spirit needs.

When you feel ready—when your breath has deepened and your shoulders have dropped—turn back toward Chez Spa. Your sanctuary awaits, and tonight, perhaps a Vichy Shower, or the gentle heat of the sauna will welcome your trail-warmed body.

For now, just walk. Just breathe. Just be.
