Town Point - Customs House

This is a replica of the original Oxford Customs House from the late 1700s. It was built in 1976 in  celebration of America’s Bicentennial. The original Customs House stands across the river on the Isthmus estate that belonged to Colonel Jeremiah Banning, Oxford’s first Customs Officer, appointed by President George Washington.
