Lockdown prison

Immersion

Spatially confined, the view out of a window could be obscured by rain, soap or dust. The image of the window is at once a form of escapism and a cry of helplessness - it is the barrier to the outside world now dangerous like never before and yet it is also our (literal) window to the world, offering at least daylight and views outside of the space of our homes. In this immersion it was almost natural to assimilate the language of prisons: locked in, locked down, sheltering, self isolating. And yet language is one thing, experience is another as Dane explained in his interview with us.
