Diamond-Leaf Pittosporum

Cross Noe Street, and turn right to head south on Noe. At 1295 Noe, the tree closest to the corner is a diamond-leaf pittosporum from eastern Australia – the scientific name is Auranticarpa rhombifolia.  This tree may not look like much, but it’s the only one of its species in all of San Francisco, so that’s something!  If you’re arriving in the fall, you may notice the tree’s characteristic orange fruits.
