Circular economy of organic waste: A pathway for creating decent jobs for youth and women in Rwanda?

The dominant literature on Circular Economy focuses on understanding the technical, environmental and economical dimensions of recycling, without describing the social processes behind it. This prevents from understanding what this new type of economy could represent for the workers involved in the recycling activities.

Therefore, the purpose of this research is to understand who is involved in these jobs, and what is their employment satisfaction in order to assess the social potential of the biowaste economy in terms of rural development and youth and female empowerment.
