Description:

This relief print plays with positive and negative space within the silhouette of tree branches leading to the central woodpecker. This print plays with hand-coloring and is inspired by some of the framing and composition found in Japanese woodblock prints of the 18th century. The woodpecker featured in the work visits my home garden several times a week.
