Hirise Apartments

The blustery winds thrash this pole and birdhouses on a hilltop, but it remains anchored to the frozen ground on this scene near Eckville. This egg tempera was painted mostly from memory, and a small sketch I did on site one  winter afternoon in January of 2022. I used a muted palette and cool pigments to capture the feelings I experienced that day.
