Patricia Aaron - Air BnB

Hi, this is Pat Aaron, I am a Colorado artist. I have a full-time studio practice located in Greenwood Village, Colorado, and I want to thank you for stopping by my sculpture Air BnB. It's designed to provide an overnight respite for busy birds flying here and there. I'm an artist deeply concerned about our natural world, and I also want to celebrate it. I designed this sculpture to show the birds and the natural wildflowers and life that are etched into the acrylic panels onto the birdhouses. They are fabricated out of steel--this is powder-coated steel with etched acrylic panels and when you look through the little hole where the birds would fly into to rest for the night, you see the Colorado sky. The panels on either side are various colors. When you move around the sculpture, you'll see how they overlap and create new colors. It's really a sculpture for all ages to enjoy; it's a kaleidoscope in a sense--a pinwheel. The piece does not move, it is not kinetic, but I think that you can move it with your eye. Whether you are sitting on the ground, or standing in front of it, or from a distance, it is eye-catching. I am proud to say it is fabricated here in Colorado and designed by me. Originally, it was commissioned by the museum of outdoor arts which is located in Englewood, Colorado, so I like to always thank them as well as Collin Parson, Director of the Arvada Center Galleries and this sculpture field. Thank you today for stopping by and if you'd like to see more of my work, I have a website. Please visit me at patriciaaaron.com. Thank you, bye.
