In the eighteen hundreds the main denominations were Presbyterians, Methodists, and Baptists. The Presbyterian Church was the oldest and most established at the time. The Scots and Irish were Presbyterian and were among the first to move westward. By the early nineteenth century Methodism was enjoying explosive growth, especially in the West. Its key innovation—the circuit rider, seemed suited to the needs of far-flung settlements. He traveled around to the communities to convert its local residents.
To the right of the entrance there is a boot from about 1870. This boot was found by the curator hanging upside down from a beam in the mine. This means the miner died near that spot and his boot was fastened there.
To the left of the entrance there is the last wooden cross found in the cemetery on this property.
The pipe organ is original from Yuma.
