The Church of Our Lady of the Angels, more commonly known as Igreja dos Anjos was built in 1911 after the establishment of Portuguese republic.
This is a Roman Catholic parish church located in Avenida Almirante Reis. Avenida Dona Amélia once was named after Queen Amélie of Orléans was renamed as Avenida Almirante Reis shortly after the Portuguese revolution happened on fifth of October in 1910, honouring one of the Republican revolutionaries.
