On the left side a beautiful panoramic view of the National Palace of Sintra also known as Palácio da Vila. It is the only survivor of the medieval royal palaces in Portugal. The Palace was used by the Portuguese Royal Family practically until the end of the Monarchy in 1910. The first intervention was in 1281.
New constructive bodies are added over time. The Palace retains its silhouette since the mid-sixteenth century.
Globally recognized by the profile of the two monumental conical chimneys of its kitchens, it displays the largest collection of Spanish-Moorish tiles in situ in Europe and collections of decorative art from the sixteenth to the eighteenth century that are worthy of your visit.
