Just up Washington Street and across the street is Moe's Jewelry Building. This tidy little building with the unique double doors was best known as S.N. Moe’s Jewelry Store. Severin Moe hailed from Sweden where he learned the watch repair trade and arrived in Silver City and opened his store in 1880 at the age of 21. He sold fine watches, jewelry, silverware, and eyeglasses to Silver City residents for many years. His living quarters were also in part of the building. Moe married Ida Elizabeth Grete on November 5, 1890 in Silver City. They had one child, Floy Wilhelmina, who lived only 13 days.
