Martha Davenport and The Caretaker's Cabin

Originally built as separate cabins in 1865 for the Parkinson and Davenport families, this plain, rough-hewn structure has served as everything from a brothel, a museum, and even the "Old Miner's Dining Club." In this chapter, we meet two of the original owners: Martha Davenport and her gregarious daughter Sallie.
