The Children’s Barn was built in 1910 and is the only known example of this architectural design in New England. Formerly called the Drafthouse and Hog Barn, it offers visitors the opportunity to view domestic animals in a historic farm building. Today our barn is home to a horse, pony, two pigs, a goat, rabbits, ducks, chickens, and a goose. Additionally, we have a steer and two sheep in the pasture behind the Carriage House. Significant renovations to this historic building were made in 2020, and more continue, thanks to the generosity of visitors and commercial donors.
The Hay Barn is next on our tour. Proceed to the botttom of the ramp leading to the large red barn just to your left.
