As you get to the second floor, please note each room has it's own name. On this floor, all the rooms were once connected by hidden doors so servants could move unnoticed. Some were sealed with walls and mirrors when the Castle became a bed-and-breakfast, and some outlines can still be seen
The Bird’s Eye Maple (now Dutch room)was used to line the room and create the furniture. The furniture was originally constructed to match the room.
This was Mary Henderson’s private bedroom. The patch where the door used to be leads to the Maple Tree room, Mary’s dressing room, which connects to Frank Henderson’s private quarters, now named the Italian Suite.
This is considered one of the most haunted private bedrooms. Past guests claim Mary’s presence is watchful and protective. Reports exist of shadow movement in this room and the bed shaking or vibrating. Children have reported paranormal activity in this room. When Danny Holroyd, our paranormal investigator, communicated with the spirits, they said they were watching over and protecting a little girl who had been visiting.
