As in the majority of alpert+kahn’s work, the series arrangements began with photography. Started in 2009 as floral still lifes, the photographs explored the existence of bouquets from freshly opened flowers to dried groups in the same arrangements. Then the series laid dormant until 2019. At that time as the images were no longer precious, an interplay of parts of images were rearranged with parts of other images as collages . Thus, reimagined images were explored as multi-planal relationships and as narratives between the parts of the assembled images. These three images are the result of this pursuit. And to this day, one can still find remnants of the bouquets in the studio… just in case.
