As you walk the short loop of the Prairie Trail look for signs of animal life. As you look out at the shortgrass prairie what do you notice? Do you see or hear any prairie dogs or see their homes? If you look out over the landscape do you see any hawks or eagles? Do you hear any songbirds or see any? The shortgrass prarie is one of the most impereld ecosystems in the world due to factors such as habitat fragmentation, agricultural use, and invasive species. As you walk this short loop think about ways you can help this ecosystem
