The Regal Oak Heater was attractively designed for use in the parlor where a family would entertain guests. Manufactured by the Kalamazoo Stove Company, this heater was originally embellished with decorative silver-colored metal attachments.

Stoves by Mail

Founded in 1902, the Kalamazoo Stove Company became a success by selling stoves by mail order under the slogan, “A Kalamazoo Direct to You.”  The company later added showrooms where customers could see the stoves before ordering. For over fifty years, the company manufactured stoves, heaters, and furnaces.

Collecting Kalamazoo Stoves

The Museum currently has seven examples in its collection – one came from as far away as Maine. Museum staff found this stove in an antique store in Ludington, Michigan.
