DeLandites used to enjoy a wide range of concerts, shows, and plays in the Opera House. Every performance was a social event: Women wore their finest gowns and men wore top hats.
The brick building you see today was built in 1910. Before that, there was a wood structure on the site, where Henry DeLand published the town's first newspaper in 1877.
