In 2021, the M 1000 RR marked BMW Motorrad’s first collaboration with BMW M. Like the M cars, the bike developed under Dr. Markus Schramm has advanced aerodynamics, with MotoGP-style winglets that produce downforce and reduce the tendency to wheelie. M carbon wheels, ABS, and Marzocchi suspension are standard. The engine uses Shift-Cam technology, and many internal parts are titanium, as is the exhaust. M-developed electronics corral 212 horses, and a six-axis sensor system keeps the bike stable.
