Museums got their start in Victorian parlors, where wealthy travelers would display the “curiosities” they found on their journeys. These cabinets of curiosity might contain everything from cultural artifacts to bits of nature, and in Italian churches, even bones of saints. Throughout my adult life I’ve always kept some spot, whether a shelf or an entire cabinet, to hold things that I found beautiful or wanted to contemplate for inspiration. I wanted to share some of these treasures with the viewers of this show as a peek into my studio and process.
