In addition to the gently haunted walking tour of downtown DeLand, I'd like to show you some of my favorite “neighborhood haunts” that are almost — but not quite — within walking distance. This tour will direct you to 13 gently haunted destinations within two miles of downtown DeLand.
OVERVIEW
— You'll see 13 gently haunted locations with fascinating histories.
— You’ll hear true stories of the settlers who founded DeLand, including those who decided to stay here permanently.
— Along the way, I'll share dozens of vintage photos and images (50 in all), so you can picture life in DeLand as it used to be.
DETAILS
— This is an audio-visual tour that you'll access on your phone. It will work on any Android or Apple phone or device with Internet access.
— You may share your access code with the passengers in your car, so you can all see the images and photos on your own phones.
— The tour includes photos, descriptions, detailed maps, and step-by-step walking directions. You can either read the text or listen to narration.
— The driving tour covers a total distance of 5 miles in and around DeLand’s central business district.
— The tour is self-paced, and it generally takes an hour or two to complete. After your purchase, you'll have two full days to access it.
— The tour begins at the site of the first homestead in DeLand, near St. Peters Catholic Church.
— Driving in DeLand is typically easy and stress-free. DeLand is a small town, so take your time and enjoy the sights.
IMPORTANT NOTE
This tour will take you to historical sites in and around DeLand’s central business district. You’ll be able to see all of them from public streets or sidewalks. This tour does not include admission to private businesses, tours of the interiors, or access to other venues. This tour is strictly a driving tour.
